Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement

When the Republic of Slovenia entered the Schengen Area, the Information Commissioner took control of the implementation of Article 128 of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement. Pursuant to Article 114 of this Convention, each Contracting Party shall elect a monitoring authority which is responsible to carry out the supervision of databases of the national part of the Schengen Information System (SIS) and for monitoring that the processing and the use of information entered in the SIS does not constitute a violation of personal rights to which the data relate in accordance with the national legislation.
